How To Design Your Custom Medals?
This article describes how tournament vendors can customise medals: 1. Determine the type of competition; 2. Determine the shape of
For the production of medals, there are very many factors that will affect the cost of medals, such as molds, materials, processes, accessories, packaging, factories, etc.
Next, I will list in detail, the factors that may have an impact on the cost of medal production.
The medals will be divided into custom medals and public mold medals according to whether they are customized or not.
If your medal doesn’t need to be customized, then using public molds will be fine, which will save you a mold opening fee. Generally, larger factories have their own public molds, but of course, we also have a variety of molds for you to choose from.
If your medal needs to be customized, then you need to pay a mold fee, if you customize the quantity to reach a certain requirement, the mold fee will be refunded, for example, our requirement is to make up to 10000pcs, then we will refund the mold fee.
For a detailed material description, you can check my last article. The price ranking of materials is rough: copper > zinc alloy > iron/stainless iron > aluminum.
For a detailed process description, please check my other article. In production, if you use more processes, then obviously, your medals will cost a lot, so please choose the most suitable process, not the most.
Accessories are detailed in my article on the two most common types of webbing used for medals, as well as other metal accessories. Woven webbing is the cheapest of all webbing with the same specifications. If your budget allows, you can choose heat transfer webbing, which allows you to have gradient colors on your webbing, or more complex color logos can use heat transfer webbing.
If you make a medal, there are usually free OPP bags provided, but of course, the free OPP bags can’t make your medal look original. If you want special packaging, then you need to set aside part of your budget.
When it comes to factories, there are many custom medal factories around the world, but China has the most factories and a large number of customers choose to have their medals made in China. Why? Because the metal-making industry chain in China is complete and labor is cheap. If you make a medal in the US, it may cost you $10/pcs, but in China, it may cost you less than $5/pcs, and the extra $5/pcs you spend is enough to cover the shipping cost. That’s why a lot of customers choose to have their medals made in China.
Shipping costs should also be included in the overall cost of your medal production. Generally, we will provide a relatively fast courier channel, but if you have a very good time, you can also choose sea freight, road freight, etc. If you wish to use your own shipping account, you can provide it to us and we will arrange the shipment or you can arrange factory pickup.
After the above steps, you just need to wait for the shipping and the product will come to you.
If you buy from us, we will provide you with after-sales service, and you can contact us anytime if there is a problem with the product during this period.
